Return and Refund Policy

At BuildYourGarage (YourBuildingTeam), we are committed to providing high-quality steel buildings tailored to your needs. We believe in transparency and fairness throughout the construction process for our customers in both the United States and Canada.


1. Eligibility & Return Window

We accept returns within 30 days of delivery. The eligibility and fees depend on the type of product and the reason for the return.

*Note on Return Shipping: We can arrange discounted LTL freight for your return; the cost will be deducted from your final refund amount.
†Custom Orders: Custom-engineered packages are not returnable once fabrication has begun (defined as stamped drawings approved and steel cut).


2. Cancellations & Deposits

  • Non-Refundable Deposit: A 10% deposit is required to cover the cost of engineered drawings and initial project setup. This deposit is non-refundable once drawings are released.
  • Cancelling Before Fabrication: If you cancel before steel is cut, you will receive a full refund minus the 10% deposit.
  • Cancelling After Fabrication: Once fabrication begins, the building is custom-made for you. The balance is due, and the building must be accepted.

3. Fabrication & Delivery Timelines

  • Fabrication Time: Standard buildings typically take approx. 1 month to fabricate. Larger or custom projects may take 3–6 months depending on complexity.
  • Delivery Schedule: Delivery typically ranges from 1 to 22 business days depending on your location in the US or Canada.
  • Delays: Please note that timelines may be extended during peak seasons (Spring and Summer).
  • Inspection: Please ensure you are available on the scheduled delivery date. Inspect all deliveries immediately upon arrival; any missing or damaged items must be reported within 30 days.

4. Refunds & Processing

  • Inspection: Once we receive your return, please allow 3–5 business days for inspection.
  • Refund Issuance: Approved refunds are processed to your original payment method within 10 business days.
  • Deductions: For standard returns, the cost of outbound shipping, return freight, and the 10% restocking fee will be deducted from the total refund amount.

5. Exchanges

Need a different size? Start a return process as outlined above and place a new order at any time. Please note that restocking fees on the original kit still apply unless the original item was defective.
